A homeless youth shelter suddenly loses government funding, forcing its residents back onto the streets. The film depicts the desperate efforts of a handful of artistically talented teenagers who try to save their shelter from financial collapse.
"Street Voices" illuminates the variety of unique backstories, struggles, and dreams of the homeless youth community in Pittsburgh, PA. Based on the true story of Joel Zola.
In an earlier draft, “Street Voices” received 9 awards in September 2019 for the Pittsburgh UNCUT Film Festival including Best Picture. This version of the film was also showcased in Seattle.
The final version of the film will be released in the summer of 2021.
